Podcast #22: Ground Breaking Research To Help You on Your Hunting Property

This week’s podcast we cover the latest and greatest research when it comes to habitat management for wildlife. We recently spent time at the Quality Deer Management Association’s National Convention in New Orleans. There we heard, Dr. Craig Harper, share some groundbreaking news that he and his team had discovered.

This information will shape the way you look at your property, it’s soils, and the native vegetation available to deer. Within the research, they discovered that no longer is a property limited by its soil quality when they are managing for native vegetation such as early successional plant communities, aka “old-fields”. Native vegetation whether you are in the fertile lands along the Mississippi or the rough country of West Virginia, produce the same nutritional levels! Many of the native plants also meet the requirements for deer to reach their full potential. If you desire the local deer herd to be the best it can be, here is your answer.
