This week on the Land & Legacy podcast, we sit down with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commissioner to discuss the direction of wildlife and landscape management in the state. We loved to hear and were encouraged to learn all about the plans this new commissioner was going to take the department.
Arkansas is an extremely diverse state. It offers flooded bottomland, prairies, agriculture land, woodlands, and savannas. This diversity is great but it also comes with many challenges. However, these challenges present several opportunities when managing the state and wildlife. We will be discussing prescribed fire and what the state will be doing to incorporate it more! We will also be discussing the plans of educating landowners on how to use this incredibly useful tool!
